Attendance is taken and marked in the register at 8:50 a.m.,12:35 p.m. and at the beginning of each gym period.
Ste. Anne Elementary School has a call back system in effect according to Division Policy, whereby all students in K-8 will be closely monitored. Any absences for unknown reasons will be reported to the general office and a call will be placed to parents to determine the reason for the absence.
If a child is sick, he/she is encouraged to stay home to recuperate. Homework will be provided. As fresh air stimulates the brain and prepares students for learning, all students are expected to go outside at recess and noon hour. In the event your child must stay indoors, they should remain at home as we cannot provide proper supervision. If a student becomes ill during the school day, the teacher will refer the student to the office immediately. The secretary will call the parents to pick up their child.
If a student is involved in an accident during the school day, a staff person will assist that student. The school secretary will contact the parent/guardian. If that person is not available, then the emergency contact person will be called. If the student requires transportation to a medical facility, a staff person will accompany the student and remain until a parent/guardian or emergency contact person arrives.
